Finally an update!

I really need to get better at updating this place. Between working on bikes, full time job, TCU and trying to ride sometimes it is tough.

Anyhow, over the past weeks I have been helping Scraphous get his chopper ready for the WHCM in June. We have been working on it every weekend and it is now running.

Also over the past few weeks i loaned my shop out to a local photographer for a budoir shoot. I asked him to let me have a few of the pictures to share with the bikes. I only got a few of them but here they are...

I am in the works of planning another photoshoot with a couple of models this coming weekend on the BBO bike and Harlo's bike from TCU. Will try to get better at updating the blog!

On another note, for years I tried to get my son into motorcycles. He never seemed to have a bit of interest because he could not hold a controller and sit in his bedroom while doing another hobby. Well, fast forward about 6-7 years and he is now engaged, has his own place and came to me wanting a bike.

We picked him up a 1990 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 with only 7,000 miles on it for his first and got it running yesterday for the first time in a few years. Still have to replace the turn signals and work on the brakes but wont be long and he will be in the wind with us! I AM VERY EXCITED! Maybe next year we will be chopping this one together????

Spring Kick-off Run 2011

First off, let me start this with a little story.

It was about 7 years ago now I started getting into the chopper scene. I found a website that had a lot of cool bikes on it and cool members. Fast forward 7 years and I now run the BEST website on the planet for Choppers and just about anything motorcycle related. The members totaling over 12,000 now are some of the best guys/gals you would ever meet. TheChopperUnderground.com

In this 7 years I have made a lot of friends with the same interest as myself. Over the past 2-3 years I have been blessed with meeting a bunch of guys locally that are into the same thing and are members of my website along with Hondachopper.com and some that I still consider family even though not a member.

We don't need a fancy name (although we have kicked the idea around just for fun) but it is a TRUE brotherhood. These guys would be at my side in a heartbeat if I needed it and myself the same. So, for now I like to call them and myself the Central US TCU Crew.The membership of this crew continues to grow but as of now it consists of the following:

This group got together this previous weekend to kick off the summer with the Moonshine Run. Along with the Central US TCU Crew we were joined by a few other TCU members and freinds (Greazybiker (Ken), ta2ist (John), Harley, Matt) and I apologize if I missed someone. Everyone came, some with spouses and hung out at my place (some refer to as TCU Headquarters). We had a great time swapping stories, wrenching on each others bikes, drinking our favorite beverages and of course making fun of each other. I am not a writer so I never know the right words to put on here but I hope all of these guys understand that I call them "BROTHER" and "SISTER" for a reason! WOW! Kind of forgot about this blog.

So, it has been awhile since updating. I promise to try and update more often going forward.

I have been real busy completing the BBO bike for Thechopperunderground.com biker build off. I had a blast doing it and had many members help me along the way. Special shout out to the IL TCU crew for all of the assistance and ideas!

Here are a couple more finished photos and a couple with my wife posing and being as beautiful as ever. She is such a sport and wouldn't have anything if it was not for her.

Since the BBO bike has been completed I have been working hard to get the 2005 Fatboy back on the road and the CB750 Trike finished up before the Moonshine Run. Had to put a new battery in the fatboy and new rear tire. It is done and ready to go!

The trike on the other hand has been a handful! I cannot seem to get the brakes working worth a shit. They are the original servi-car drum brakes and have replaced all parts with new. Keep bleeding them and adjusting but no luck. I did manage to get some diodes wired in and now the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals are all working as they should. Painted the bars black since the picture and installed a mirror. New battery as well. Took it for a ride today and found front wheel loose, brakes still suck! and it will not go back down to a lower idle. Will dig into this on Friday. Time to clean the garage for all the TCU guys coming over for the Moonshine Run!

Trike Update

I finally got a chance to get the trike outside for pictures. Since the last update I have managed to get all new bushings and psacers on the frontend, new shock on the girder as well. The bike is wired minus the tail lights because they mount on the body section. The air cleaner is off in these pics but it is done and bolts right back on. Scraphous and myself will be making the long journey again this weekend to pick up the painted tins and get them on. My goal is to ride this thing on Christmas day even if there is a foot of snow!!!

Nothing new but some changes...

I forgot that I never updated the blog regarding the changes to the One Day Amen bike. I rewired the electric box, new tank, new paint, added some tiny LED turn signals, hooked up the front brake switch and all new fuel lines.

Trike Update

Whew! It seems like I am getting much closer to a finsihed bike. I got the carbs cleaned, painted and back together, cleaned up and repaired the old breadbox air cleaner. I don't have good outside pictures but I also completed the oil tank, electric box, rear passenger footrests and drivers footrests. Here is a couple pictures of the motor. Hopefully I can get it outside and get some good pics this weekend.

Stash Tube

Needed something for the Amen bike to store my paperwork in. I hate carrying stuff in my wallet and it is a real pain when a bro wants to take the bike for a ride. So, I was killing time at the ardware store and pieced this togather. A real quick semi-glos powdercoat job and a couple tapped hole sin the downtube. Look ssweet and works great. I got enough stuff to do many more but going to try and find some brass caps and might do a few in different colors.
